Quilting Fabric

 

All quilting fabric is 100% cotton and is usually 112cm (44”) wide. This can vary slightly from one manufacturer to another and is outside of our control. A fat quarter will be 50cm (approx.20”) x half the width of the fabric.

For ordering purposes, the quantity of ‘1’ refers to one fat quarter (quarter metre). Where 1 item of fabric is ordered, it will be assumed that a fat quarter is required unless you advise us otherwise. If you prefer a long, thin quarter metre, please contact to advise.

Orders of more than 1 will be sent as a continuous piece. Please note: this means that orders of ‘2’ will be a half metre, ‘3’ will arrive as a piece of fabric measuring ¾ metre, 4 will arrive as a full metre piece unless you request otherwise.

We will combine orders placed through ebay with orders from this website. Just contact us to let us know that you are ordering or bidding on an ebay item. For items in the auction, I will hold your order for up to 7 days to allow the auction to end.

 

Placing an Order

 

Click on the ‘Buy’ button and enter the quantity you require. You will then be directed to Paypal where you can choose to either make your payment or continue shopping. If paying by personal cheque or postal order, please contact us with details of your requirements.

Shipping

 

All orders are sent via Royal Mail. We aim to despatch your order within 3 working days of your payment clearing. Please allow for weekends and Bank Holidays. Once the item is despatched, shipping time can vary depending on the destination and the mailing service used. Charges allow for packaging as well as postage.

Any delays once the item has been handed to Royal Mail are outside of our control, but please inform us as soon as possible if your item is damaged or if you think it may have been lost. Royal Mail requires that 15 days should elapse from the date of posting before making a claim. Some of the things you can check first are:

  • your local post office
  • check for any cards that may have been pushed through the door in your absence
  • check for any cards that may have been pushed through the door in your absence
  • check with any neighbours who may be likely to take in a parcel on your behalf

Orders will be sent 2nd class and charged according to the order value as in the chart below.  If 1st class or any other specific type of delivery is required, please apply for a price. Orders to the monetary value of more than £40 will be sent by recorded delivery.

International Shipping Rates

 

Delivery outside the UK is primarily by Airmail. However if your order is £40 or more, it will be sent using the appropriate method to provide compensation  i.e. International Recorded. This charge is levied by Royal Mail at £3.50 and must be added to the charges as shown above.

Please be aware that you may be subject to customs charges. This is imposed by customs in your country based on the value of your package. I have no control over this, nor am I responsible for any of these charges.

 

Note to All International Buyers – please ensure that you know the total value of the order plus the postage in your own currency before ordering. A handy currency converter can be found on the Beginners page

 

Returns Policy

I will only accept returns if you have given prior notification and consent. Please contact me first so that we can agree a course of action that is mutually acceptable.

I will accept a return of any item for any reason if you inform me within 14 days of receipt of your order. Refunds will be given in the form of a credit held against your name for the amount you paid for that item. Postage will not be refunded in this instance.

If the return was made due to an error on our part, you will have the option of a refund through Paypal or cheque depending on how you paid for your item. Your refund will include postage only if we or Royal Mail were at fault.

 

 

Out of stock items

Although we do our best to keep the website inventory up to date, it does happen from time to time that the quantity or item you want isn’t available. If this is the case we will contact you to reach an agreement that suits you. E.g.

  • If we can get more of the item, I will advise of the delay time
  • If we cannot get more of the item, we will consult you regarding a substitute. If there is no suitable substitute we will refund the amount you paid for the item

 

Loyalty Scheme

 

All customers who place orders of £5 or more (excluding postage) will be automatically sent a loyalty card. For subsequent orders you will be sent the relevant number of stamps which you can stick on to your card. Every full £5 you spend will get you a stamp. When you have 20 stamps you will get £5 off your next order.  

We know that cards and little stamps can get lost from time to time, so to be sure that none of our customers lose out, we keep a record here of the number of stamps you have attained. We will send occasional e-mails to customers participating in the loyalty scheme to update you on the number of stamps you have and the number that you need to get your discount. You have the right to advise us if you do not wish to receive these e-mails.

Loyalty cards can be used and will be distributed to all buyers at any quilting or group events that you invite me along to.

At shows, if you already have a loyalty card you may use it, but loyalty cards will not be distributed at shows. 

 

Privacy Policy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).

We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service. We will only send you  information you have agreed to receive by subscribing or accepting loyalty card updates. We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us in the future.

The type of information we will collect about you includes:

* address
* phone number
* email address

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.

LOYALTY SCHEME

For every full £5 you spend on goods (excluding postage) from Material Pleasures, you will receive a stamp.

When you have collected 20 stamps, you can claim a £5 discount. Ask for a card to be sent with your next order.
